girls trip to virginia

At the end of May, my mom, my sisters and I went on a girls trip for my mom's birthday to Virginia. My aunt and cousins live there so we thought it would be fun to go there, do some shopping and let the kids play together. It was a little bit of an ordeal getting there, but overall the girls did really well. Sophie had a harder time on the way there and then Emi struggled on the way home. They were both so good on the trip though and we had a blast. We mostly shopped and ate and it was so great!

Our first day there the kids swam in the back yard. They loved it.

Sophie did not love it at first...

...but she was happy out of the pool!

Emi and Reese loved playing in this little pool together

popsicles after swimming--it was so humid there

A couple days later we went to this outdoor mall that had a fountain. Emi loved running around but was pretty scared of the water spraying.

Jackson and Kate tried to convince her to go in...it didn't work very well

And then I made her mad by putting her hat on!

Cute little Reese enjoying the sun

cupcake...one of Emi's new words

Me and Beth...cousins and college roommates

Our girls are 10 days apart

One night Ashley, Alicia and I went to Old Town Alexandria for dinner and what else? Shopping!

One day we went to Eastern Market (flea market) and then took a scenic drive through DC on the way back. This is the National Cathedral. Beautiful.

We passed like all of the different embassies. It was neat to see all the building styles for all the different countries. I also loved a lot of the cool homes there in the city.

This is Maryland on our last day on the way to the airport.
