weekend fun

After we helped at the 5k on Saturday morning Adam, Ashley and I went to the Park City Arts Festival. I absolutely love stuff like that. I love looking at people's art and I really think I'm going to try to get a booth at either the Salt Lake one or the Park City one (or both) next year. I want to have a booth with books I've made. At the Salt Lake Arts Festival this year there was only one book artist and all his stuff was leather covers that look sort of rustic...very different from what I do, so I think I could still have a pretty good market. That guy was at the Park City one too, as well as a married couple from Arkansas that had some pretty cool books that looked a little more like what I do, but I think they are different enough that I could still do alright. So that's my goal for next year...to have a booth at at least one of the arts festivals in the area. I think I might also want to do the Salt Lake Farmer's Market too because they have an art section too. So I guess I really need to crank out some books this winter so I'll be ready!

Anyway, so that was fun to check out all the art. We were done with that by about 4:00, so about 5:00 we decided to head up to Wyoming to see Adam's family and spend the night. We haven't been up there in awhile since they've been out of town and it's always fun to get away and just hang out with them. We got up there about 8:00 and headed up to the top of the mountain to watch the sunset. The top of the mountain there is really cool because there are actually wild horses up there and there's a big butte you can climb and see for miles. We got up there just in time to see the sunset and it was so amazing! The sun was hot pink and there were horses right there, way close to us.

Sunday we went to church with his family and then his brother Marc took us out for rides on his dirt bike. Adam and Marc have wanted dirt bikes their whole lives and Marc recently bought one, so Adam has been dying to ride it. We went up to the mountain and rode all over. Marc was so sweet, he let us ride and just followed behind in his truck! We rode all the way to the base of the butte. On the way back to the main road it started raining really hard. The rain was freezing and so sharp! Adam and I were laughing like crazy though, it was just really fun. I got to drive for a little bit too. I was nervous to try anything much besides just going straight because I didn't want to wreck Marc's new bike! We had such a fun weekend up there though and can't wait to go back and ride some more.
