caller 10

so yesterday i found out one of my new favorite singers, colbie caillat, is coming to salt lake in december. she came for the end of summer jamboree in september, but i missed it and i was really bummed. well yesterday afternoon there was a piece of cake contest on the radio to win tickets. all you had to do was be caller 10 basically. well i got a bunch of busy signals the first 14 times i tried and then the magical 15th try....it started ringing! i couldn't believe it...i actually got through. i still didn't think i'd actually be caller 10 though...with my luck i'd be number 9 or something. but then i heard parker say "hi the end" and tell me i was the right caller! i was by myself in the car and after i hung up i have to admit i did scream a little and cheer to myself, but who wouldn't?! so i won 2 tickets to colbie caillat before you can even buy them! i am so excited because i never win anything! a few years ago i was determined to win one of a series of trips being given away, but of course so was everyone else and i never even got past the busy signal. i think it was shortly after that i stopped trying to win stuff on the radio for awhile because i figured why bother. then recently they were giving away $500 and cruise and stuff so i tried like crazy to win that but no luck. but yesterday it was my turn to win! it's still not an exotic trip or a bunch of money, but i'll take my tickets and be as happy as if it was!
